  1. Test Readiness Review 23 October 2003 CRAL - LYON

  2. Agenda 9h  Status and Lab visit 9h15  Summary of the design 9h30Integration 9h45Overall test plan 10h00Results of individual subsystem test 11h30Mechanical and vibration test 12h00Lunch 14h00Warm test plan 14h30Cold test plan 15hPupil and slit Mirrors concerns 15h15 General discussions 16hAction list 17hEnd TRR – Slicer Unit - CRAL

  3. Status • Prototype manufactured and integrated • All components requirements are fulfilled • 2 concerns: • Slit mirrors optical contact released twice • Pupil mirrors released once during delivery • One mirror damaged • Cybernetix remanufacture one line (30th oct) TRR – Slicer Unit - CRAL

  4. Schedule TRR – Slicer Unit - CRAL

  5. Action List Review TRR – Slicer Unit - CRAL

  6. Pupil mirror array Dummy Stack Slit mirror array Active Stack Heel Stacksupport Thrust cylinders Substructure Steeringmirror Main structure Design Overview TRR – Slicer Unit - CRAL

  7. Prototype manufactured TRR – Slicer Unit - CRAL

  8. Incident collimated beam Camera objective 1 Slit mirrors CCD detector 2.754 mm (in slit mirrors and in detector plane) Slices Pupil mirrors Folding mirror Re imaging mirror Optical Design • 10 Slices • 5 pupil mirrors • 5 slit mirrors • Diaphragm on re-imaging mirror • 5 slits to be studied TRR – Slicer Unit - CRAL

  9. Pupil and slit MirrorsConcerns

  10. Pupil and slit mirrors concerns • Recovery plan from the baseline monolithic solution • Not optimized for mechanical strength • Optimized to be mechanically compatible with monolithic • Optical property are fully in specifications • Mechanical assembly has to be redesign TRR – Slicer Unit - CRAL

  11. Recommendation • Redesign and manufacture new pupil and slit lines • Redesign and manufacture new mechanical support • Conduct vibration and thermal tests • Recommendation: ESA Contract extension (~35k€) Current design Proposition TRR – Slicer Unit - CRAL
