  4. Highlight: • Who wrote each document • When each was written  • What are the main points or big ideas? • Why was it written? • What type of document is it? (skip if you're not sure) 

  5. Agenda • CNN 10 • Current events • Extra credit quiz instructions  • Finish handout from yesterday • Complete "foldable" study guide • Review Federalist and Anti-Federalist handout from last week • Understanding the Articles of the Confederation & Constitution Notes  • "Valley Forge DBQ"

First Steps Towards Government   • Articles of Confederation-passed in 1787, this becomes America's first (and temporary) government  • Constitutional Convention-met between May and September of 1787 to discuss changes to the Articles of the Confederate, but they end up dumping the Articles in favor of... • The Constitution-approved in 1789, it's the result of the Constitutional Convention • The Bill of Rights (1789)-the first 10 amendments to the Constitution, appeasing the Anti-Federalists by providing guaranteed individual rights, further limiting the Federal Government

Battles Quiz (Conference Only)  • Testing silence throughout conference time • Get your test from Mrs. Singer  • Find an open desk or floor space • Use a blank piece of paper for your answer sheet • RETURN your test to the table • Put your answer sheet in your class basket  • Go back to your first hour class when you finish your quiz
