  1. Repairing your Bone Fractures with External Fixation Summary: - External fixation is rapidly emerging as the preferred medium for surgeons to repair bone fractures. Read on to know more about this process and everything that you must know. External fixation is a sort of treatment used for fractures where the place of the injury is provided support externally as opposed to internal fixations which provide the required support internally. The eternal fixation is used by inserting pins in the skin to support the fracture from both sides. The method of external fixation has been proved successful in the cases of superficial bones, for example, the tibial shift. It is used in cases where the patient may not be in a condition of a prolonged surgery or has severe open fracture and in the case of burns. This has led to an increase in demand for supplier of external fixators who can provide with high quality equipment. External Fixation comes with its share of advantages and disadvantages. Advantages: The method provides stiff support to the fractured areas. This method allows direct view of the limb, the wounded area and the healing process.  

The pin tracts have a possibility of causing further fracture. After the apparatus is fixed, it may hinder the performing of delicate surgeries like skin flaps. There may be chances of potential complications like sepsis.             There are certain precautions that must be taken for the prevention of further infections.
