Şimdiki zamanda fiiller... • İngilizcede «The present tense» formunda karşılığını bulan 3 ayrı kullanım mevcuttur; ancak İspanyolcada tüm bu kullanımların sabit, tek bir formu ve bu form auygun fiil çekimleri vardır. • Ingilizcede «the present tense» is (1) fiilin anlamı; (2) is, am, are + verb + ing; veya (3) do/does + fiil yapıları ile ifade edilir. Ancak, tüm bunlar, İspanyolcada yalnızca fiilin kendisi ile karşılanır.

  4. Örnekler (Porejemplo): • Hablo (I speak, I am speaking, I do speak) • Beben (they drink, they are drinking, they do drink) • Viven (they live, they are living, they do live)

  5. *Şahıs zamirlerinin (yo, tú, él, etc.) kullanılması zorunlu değildir; Eğer özneye vurgu yapmak istersek kullanabiliriz. • Hablo español. • Yo hablo español.

  6. Düzenli fiiller Düzenli fiiller (-ar, -er, or -ir) ekleriyle biterler ve çekimlenirken bu ekleri atılır, aşağıdaki tabloda yer alan ekler eklenir:

  7. Verbs: -ar • –ar ile biten fiiler, «the present tense» cümlelerde fiilin kökü(habl-) alınır; kişi sayısına ve cinsiyete göre farklılık gösteren bazı ekler eklenir. Böylece, özne cümlede görünmese bile, anlamak mümkündür. • -ar ekinin atılmasıyla elde edilen kısım fiilin köküdür.
