ToeJam and Earl • Developed for the Sega console in 1991 • 2 Aliens crash-land on earth • Must retrieve spaceship parts • Must avoid earthly parodies
Gameplay - Setting • Earth • Represented by randomly generated land masses layered one on top of the other • Elevators connect them • Players can fall to lower levels if they are not careful • Perspective • 2D game in 3D world
Interaction • 2 Players Possible • Adapted to the surface by having players sit at opposite ends • Originally, you could only avoid humans • Combining elements of Panic on Funkotron to add FunkFu
Gesture Based Interactions • To make ToeJam and Earl more surface-y, • Movement will be controlled in a virtual joystick fashion • There will be a gesture based spell system (FunkFu) that will be based on FunkFlows • Funkflow is the flow of funk • Different FunkFu actions are possible based on the gesture you make and how that alters the field • Can use various number of fingers and gestures
