  1. ICE-PLAN for LS1 • Where are we?? • User requested activities • Environment induced activities • Self generated activities and their impact • Issues Ph. Gayet (EN/ICE)

  2. ICE Components in Accelerators Enterprise computers WEB server GPN LabVIEW UNICOS/JCOP WTS OWS EWS RADE/LISA FESA (BE-CO) TN SCADA Servers Local Touch panel FEC PXI PLCs Profibus WorldFIP I&0 and devices

  3. ICE Components in Experiments Enterprise computers WEB server GPN GCS/MCS UNICOS/JCOP WTS DCS/DSS EWS JCOP EN TN/EN SCADA Servers SCADA Servers OPC OPC PLCs CAN Profibus DSS ELMB CAEN/Wiener/ISEG I&0 and devices

  4. Modification of applications under ICE responsibility • Accelerators • Existing applications • Cryogenicfor acceleratorrefrigerators: control logicevolutionie : addition of sparecompressors • CIET: New instruments to deploy • Machine protection (QPS, WIC, PIC, LHC CIRCUITS) : modification and deployment of new units or new devices • Survey: New load sensors consolidation • LHC Collimator (Environmental Temperatures): 18 Collimators relocated (R2E) and possibly 10 new collimators • Post Mortem applications for Hardware commissioning • New applications • Cooling and Ventilation : New systems and revamping of existing. • EL Supervision : developement of a new supervision based on WinCC-OA • EL : new Oscilloperturbographysystems • TIM 30/30 : RP and surveymeasurments • cryocompressors Vibration monitoring system • PS kicker : Hardware and timing for systems upgrade • Experiments • Gas control systems& Cloud logicmodification and new modules attached • NA62DCS and RUN control • DSS improvment

  5. Support to applications underequipment groups responsibility • Accelerators • CIS revamping of SPS magnet interlock system • Vacuum systems for Isolde, REX ,HieIsolde, Linac4 • Cryogenics for LHC tunnel • Infrastructure • Ramses support migration to WINCC-OA • Experiments • Cryogenics for LHC experiments • Magnet control system and vacuum of experimental areas • Vacuum systems for Na62 • Detector cooling systems

  6. Environmentinducedactivities • Operating system Evolution • Windows 7/Server 2008, SLC5/6, 64-bits migration • Commercial software version follow-up • WINCC-OA (PVSS) Version 3.11 and maybe 3.12 • OPC-UA to replace OPC-DA • LabVIEW 64-bit (Linux and Windows) • Front-end software and drivers 64-bit (Linux) • NI-NETV communication library • NI-Hypervisor • NI-SCOPE + 4 scope card drivers • NI-488 (GPIB) • Siemens : TIA Portal to Replace STEP7 • BE-CO standard Follow-up • FESA 3 • CMW • JAPC - InCA • FEC upgrade

  7. ICE-SELF GENERATED ACTIVITIES • JCOP, UNICOS • Introduction of new commonfunctionalities • Introduce redundancy • WINCC-OA History in ORACLE for accelerator application • CPC-6 package • Complete redesign of the PLC/SCADA control package to face CV needs and to be ready for new clients • Brand NEW Application generator • RADE/LISA • Project generator and multiple communication channels for Labviewapplications • Templates for real-time DAQ and analysis programs • LabVIEW project generator • SVN integration • Automate compile and deploy • Integrated testing Development and validation in 2012 in order to be ready preferably before LS1

  8. First evaluation of users applications requests & migration combinedactivities Ph. Gayet (EN/ICE)

  9. ISSUES • Redundant PLC for cryogenic are not (yet?) in the planning • No failure occurrencethis and last year (SEU exepted) justifyingthe installation • Wewillincludecommissioningactivitiesin PLAN for all systemsaffected by ICE Upgrades • Commissioning and software validations will have to bedistributedduring LS1 to avoid control peakactivities in summer 2014 • We are expecting a large additional workload to support all migrations done by framework users both in accelerator and experiments • This plan will have to berevisited if the environmentalconditions change Ph. Gayet (EN/ICE)

  10. This is the LAST SLIDE of the dayHappy LS1 Ph. Gayet (EN/ICE)
