  2. Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games • There’s more than just the Commonwealth Games this year! Winter Olympic Games: 7 – 23 February AND Winter Paralympic Games: 7 – 16 March

Facts about the Games • Sochi is in Russia • The Olympic Games will consist of 15 different disciplines over 7 sports • The Paralympics will hold events in 5 sports • There will be 25,000 volunteers working at the Games • Scots currently make up half of Team GB including the whole of the curling teams

  4. Sports involved • Can anyone name any of the sport involved in the Games? Biathlon Bobsleigh Bobsleigh - skeleton Curling Skiing - freestyle Ice hockey Skiing – Cross Country Skating - speed Skating - figure Skiing - Nordic combined Skating – short track speed Skiing - alpine Skiing - jumping Luge Snowboard

  5. Scots on Team GB • We have a number of Scots on Team GB and more will be selected running up to the Games. • The whole of the curling teams are made up of Scots – you might recognise Eve Muirhead who is hoping for a medal at the Games with her team.
