DesertBiodiversity • Plant Species: Creosote bush, sagebrush, ocotillo, and cati. • Animal Species: Snake, insects, lizards, skinks, geckos, gazelles, dikdiks, kangaroo, rat, and kit fox. • 15 different kinds of plants and animals.
DesertAdaptations Needed for Survival • Plant: Their good at storing and finding water. Some plants have seeds that can stay dormant in the sand for a long time, until there is enough rain for them to grow. • Animals: Some mice build their home out of fallen cactus spines to protect themselves from predators.
DesertInteractions of Biotic and Abiotic • Biotic: Snakes eat mice. • Abiotic: There is not any grass because there is littler rain.
What is Biodiversity? • Biodiversity is a large variety of plants and animals in an ecosystem.
How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem?
