It is very much part of the Hallyu wave which summarises all South Korean entertainment that has caught the attention of the global community. K-pop is a unique genre because it is known for entertaining most of their audience online. The internet has been a major benefactor in the spread of k-pop. Music videos are uploaded onto YouTube and fans are able to buy all of the merchandise online.  • Companies: the big three • SM entertainment • YG entertainment • JYP entertainment EXO-K MAMA

  3. fandoms • Each K-pop group has their fandoms and these fandoms have names and colours depending on the group. • Examples: • Super Junior – ELF-Pearl Sapphire Blue • SNSD –Sones- pastel rose • SHINee – Shawols- Pearlescent Sky Blue. • Etc • When these fans go to the groups/artists concert they bring along light sticks in the colour of their

  4. K-pop, like any other genre, has merchandise. The main merch are light sticks. In k-pop concerts you want to have a light stick to wave around to create an "ocean". The colour of the light stick depends on the group, for instance "Super Junior" have pearl blue, "BIGBANG" have yellow etc.
