  2. Music Visions • “Students who qualify for gifted and talented instruction attend Visions classes twice a week before the school day begins. There is a two-week window in which parents of 2nd, 3rd, or 4th graders may nominate their children for Music Visions. Please pick up a form in the office starting November 3rd-14th. Deadline for nominations is November 14th. • Artistically and musically (art and music) gifted/talented students usually possess several of the following traits: • high quality of work and task commitment in one of the arts • arts involvement and interest either in class or on their own • willingness to explore arts problems • flexible thinking, uses many approaches to solving a problem • creative potential • goes beyond the obvious, sees unusual relationships • thinks of doing projects in his/her spare time • examines and observes things very thoroughly • likes to elaborate on an idea or add details • takes work seriously and completes it • high energy level • self-direction”
