April Meeting • VHS and Tift HS: adding new biotech courses in Fall 2011 • WGTC is preparing budget, looking at space, and planning curriculum for biotech • School meetings in process • VHS and Brooks HS retested seniors • Meeting with HS re: funding for HSGR/Gold • Found trainer for mechanical skills for GWRRIN • GOWD made videos of local leaders • Cook County sponsored ball teams with Be Work Ready shirts to reach community • March Meeting • New B&I for GIFT program • Person dedicated to “Go for the Gold” efforts • Facebook: Wiregrass Work Ready • Engineering Workshop for Girls

Best Practices April Meeting • Sharing best practices and ideas regularly with Wiregrass WRR • Partnering with VSU and HA to offer KeyTrain lab at community skills center • Promoting Work Ready through softball teams which reach a large audience • High schools collaborating with each other on using KeyTrain and increasing HSGR • Encouraging county leadership teams to take greater responsibility for marketing Work Ready services to businesses and achieving goals

Issues/Concerns April Meeting • Determining who to train for WR leadership and what to include March Meeting • Limited time during the sustaining grant to work with teachers (only one summer) • Impact that Federal formula for determining HSGR • Limited time to impact graduation rates for this year • Developing leaders for our region • Concern about whether federal budgetary changes to WIA funds will impact the sustainability grants
