  3. Pages Show me what you know about the elements and principles of art!

  4. Line Definition: Thin, thick, curved, jagged, straight, ect. It has a starting point and an ending point. One full semester devoted to line in Drawing 1.

  5. Shape & Space Definition: Shape is the object and space is the area around the shape. We worked with shape and space on the Text Art, Marker Camo. Relief sculpture and Mandala projects.

  6. Color Definition: Light reflected off an object we perceive as color. Like Red, Yellow, Blue, ect. We worked with color on the color pretest, color packet, text art, relief sculpture, mandala, found sculpture and whistle projects.

  7. Texture Definition: How something actually feels if touched or how we would think it would feel if touched. We worked with texture on the text art, marker camo, relief sculpture and found object.

  8. Value Definition: Lights, mediums, and darks. We worked with value on the marker camo, color pencil exercise, mandala and many times in Drawing 1.

  9. Balance Definition: Parts are equal. Asymmetrical, symmetrical, and radial balance We worked with balance on the text art, marker camo, mandala, and found object projects.

  10. Variety Definition: More than one kind We worked on variety on the text art, marker camo, relief sculpture, whistle and found object projects.

  11. Pattern or Repetition Definition: An element that happens more than once. We worked with pattern/repetition on the text art, marker camo, and mandala projects.

  12. Emphasis Definition: One area that is more important than another area. We worked with emphasis on the text art, marker camo, and found object projects

  13. Movement Definition: Using elements to make your eye look through out the art work. We worked with movement on the marker camo, relief sculpture and found object projects.

  14. Unity Definition: The parts make up a whole. It all goes together as one. We worked with unity on the text art, marker camo and found object projects.

  15. Contrast Definition: A difference. Can have a big or small difference. We worked with contrast on the marker camo and mandala projects.
