Department of Applied Physics The Hong Kong Polytechnic University News & Events (2006-04~06) 04-04-2006:Professor ZHAO Bairu from the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences paid a visit to AP and our group. Professor Zhao is one of the leading scientists in the field of superconducting materials in China. He will give a talk in AP on April 06. 04-11-2006:Congratulations!Miss ZHOU Xiaoyuan gave a confirmation presentation to the academic committee today. She has passed the confirmation exam. 04-28-2006:ISIF’2006. Miss ZHOU Xiaoyuan attended the International Symposium on Integrated Ferroelectrics’2006, Honolulu, Hawaii (23 to 27 April). 05-15-2006:A papertitled "Hydrogen-related dynamic dielectric behavior of barium titanate single crystals" (Prof W.P. Chen of Wuhan University as the first author and Dr. Wang as the second author) appears in the May 15, 2006 issue of Applied Physics Letters (Vol.88, p.202906). 05-17-2006:A papertitled "Preparation of MATO and TiO2/Ti photoelectrodes by magnetron sputtering for photocatalytic application" (Dr. C. He as the first author and Dr. Wang as the fourth author) appears in the May 17, 2006 issue of Applied Catalysis A - General (Vol.305, p.54-63). * Dr. He is currently a research fellow in Japan. 06-14-2006:Meeting Hawking.Together with Dr. Leung, Dr. Wang (both as HKPS council members) attended a meeting at HKUST jointly organized by HKUST, HKPS and several other organizations, where Professor Stephen Hawking gave a very short speech and took photo with all attendees. * More information about Hawking’s visit to HKUST is available at http://media.ust.hk. 06-15-2006:A papertitled "Effects of ferroelectric polarization and converse piezoelectric effect induced lattice strain on the electrical properties of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 thin films" (Dr. R.K. Zheng as the first author and Dr. Wang as the fourth author) appears in the June 15, 2006 issue of Journal of Applied Physics (Vol.99, p.123714).

Miao as the first author and Dr. Wang as correspondence author) appears in the June 21, 2006 issue of Journal of Physics D-Applied Physics (Vol.39, p. 2565-70). 06-25-2006:A papertitled "Tunable dielectric behaviors of barium zirconate titanate thin films" (Mr. W.C. Xu as the first author and Dr. Wang as the fourth author) appears in the June, 2006 issue of Integrated Ferroelectrics (Vol.80, p. 443-49). 06-26-2006:Welcome!Mr. YAN Zhi joined the group.
