  2. What is BioMaps? • Biodiversity data access, visualisation and analysis portal to Australian biodiversity data • Developed through the Australian Museum/ Rio Tinto partnership

  4. Reviewed BioMaps 1.0 • Went through useability and user needs assessments using one on one interviews and focus groups that included • teachers, • Scientists • Ecologists and Taxonomists • State Govt biodiversity protection and planning agencies • NGO’s

  6. 2.0 • Data Sources • Portal to the Australian Biodiversity Information Facility (ABIF) Cache • Includes data from Australian and International DiGIR providers • Also facility for simple cut and paste uploading of user data for mapping and analysis • Utilising Australian Biological Resources (ABRS) Names List
