Vocab Definitions: nocturnal ~ sleeps during the day and active at night fluttering ~ moving through the air lightly and quickly blanketed ~ area that is covered with something like fog or snow detail ~ small piece of information that is part of a whole inverted ~ something turned upside-down or inside-out surroundings ~ the area around you effort ~ hard work dozes ~ takes a short nap swoops ~ dives or dips downward plummet ~ drop suddenly from a great height Writing Assignment this week! This week students will work on summarizing. This will be done within the classroom. Worth 5 points total. Biography: Writing a biography is writing about another persons life It should begin at the person’s birth and go sequentially through the life of their influential person There should be many facts and details and a picture printed or drawn. The Black History Month Biography is due next week and will be a large portion of the students reading grade. Make sure your child is finishing this writing project! @ Rachel Thorp 2013
